The Framestore VR team was tasked with creating the first multi user VR experience. As the teams technical artist i was tasked with creating the landscape system to map and shade over 500 square miles of the Washington DC downtown metro area inside of the unreal engine. We then superimposed mars Satellite data over open street view and USGS data from the area. This allowed us to map the surface of mars over washing DC. We then went and placed in Mountain, rocks, sand, and other natural mars occurrences. the modelling team at Framestore under my guidance created in engine assets of the mars rover and a futuristic space base that matched future NASA plans.
